Last updated: 1 May 2026

Homes and Granny Flats Pty Ltd ("HGF", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

  • Connect you with finance partners if requested

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Storage and Security

We store personal data on secure servers located in Australia and with reputable cloud providers. We employ industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular security assessments to protect your information.

5. Cookies, Local Storage and Marketing Attribution

Our website uses cookies and browser local storage to remember your preferences (such as postcode and cart items) and to analyse website traffic. You can control cookie settings through your browser; however, disabling them may affect site functionality.

To understand which marketing campaigns are working, we capture standard tracking parameters (UTM tags such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, plus gclid and fbclid click identifiers), the page you first landed on, and your referring website. These values are stored in your browser's local storage for up to 90 days and attached to any enquiry or quote request you submit.

When you tap a phone number on our website, we record the click — the page you tapped from, the time, the browser user-agent string, and the same UTM/click-id values described above — so we can attribute calls back to marketing campaigns. We do not store your phone number or the contents of any subsequent call. To dedupe rapid repeat clicks we generate a short-lived hash of your IP address and browser user-agent that automatically rotates each day; we do not retain the underlying IP.

Retention periods. Marketing-attribution data is held only as long as we need it:

  • Browser-side (your device): UTM tags, click-ids, referrer and landing page are stored in browser local storage for up to 90 days from the visit that captured them, after which they are ignored and replaced. You can clear this at any time via your browser's site-data settings.
  • Server-side — call-click records: retained for up to 12 months from the click date for marketing-performance reporting, then automatically deleted. The daily-rotating visitor hash is non-reversible and cannot be linked back to you after rotation.
  • Server-side — enquiry attribution metadata: the UTM/click-id fields attached to a submitted enquiry are retained for up to 12 months for campaign-performance reporting and may be cleared from the enquiry record after that period, even if the enquiry itself is kept longer for tax or contractual record-keeping.
  • Server logs: request logs containing IP addresses are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention only, and are not used for marketing.

You can request deletion of any personal information we hold about you at any time using the contact details in section 10.

6. Access and Correction

You have the right to access and request correction of your personal information. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Marketing Communications

We will only send you marketing emails if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us directly.

8. Complaints

If you believe we have handled your personal information in breach of the Privacy Act, you may lodge a complaint with us first. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

9. Changes to This Policy
